When choosing between video game consoles, it’s important to know who it is you are choosing for. In case the gaming console is primarily for your own use and not for your whole family you should put your focus on your personal preferences. However, if you want a console for your whole family, you need to take a different mindset. Let’s take for example, the Nintendo Wii versus Sony’s Playstation 3.
For starters, both consoles have their strong selling points. The Wii offers a different type of gaming experience by getting the player more involved physically. The Wii controller itself is used in different manners to influence what is happening on the screen as you play. Whatever a game is calling for you to do, such as swing a sword, is accomplished by the player holding the controller and swinging it as if it really was a sword. This can make for a much more enjoyable experience for children, because it incorporates an element of playground type of fun mixed with the video game experience. The Wii offers many games for the younger crowd as well, although some would argue that it could be the downfall of the system. You also have the option of unlocking Wii to play homebrew games, watch movies, and listen to music.
That brings us to the Playstation 3, a system that is much more geared for adults than the Nintendo Wii. The majority of the PS3 games are of much more of a mature nature when compared to the games that the Wii has to offer. The PS3 controller may not be interactive like the Wii, but it is a very tried and true piece of hardware that is one of the more comfortable video game controllers that has ever been made. Another great thing about PS3 is that it can play Blu Ray DVDs. This could also be a factor in deciding which video game console you may buy, without really having anything to do with the games themselves.
So, what have we learned? If you want to have a gaming console that is entertaining for both young and old and if you would like a completely different gaming esperience, t then the WIi may be exactly what you are looking for. You can even maximize your Wii entertainment experience by unlocking Wii. If a more mature and traditional type of system sounds better to you, then perhaps you should go with the Playstation 3. Both have their strong points, and you will no doubt have a good time with whichever one you choose.
One thing only few Wii owners are aware of is the fact that you can play homebrew games on your Wii and also play absolutely every game from N64, SNES, and Sega Genesis. It is also possible to download ISO`s, DVDs, and Music. Unlocking your Wii for maximum entertainment is easy! For more information go to Unlock Wii
