Movie sensation Brad Pitt began his Hollywood career in 1987 with a few unaccredited parts in low budget movies. All that changed in 1991 with the release of the popular Thelma and Louise crime spree movie where Brad was revealed in a steamy scene with Geena Davis, and soon became a sex symbol on the big screen.

Although early in his career, he occasionally starred in various TV episodes (including the hit TV soap opera Another World) and films on the big screen, Brad Pitt movies have become a somewhat semi-annual event. In the last several years Brad has starred in or produced at least 2 movies per year.

Except the underrated 2007 release, ‘The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford’ (in which Brad starred and produced) all of Brad Pitt movies have seen gross receipts of more than one hundred million dollars.

Beginning with the 2001 release of Oceans 11, Brad Pitt movies suffered a dry spell until the hit movie ‘Troy’ appeared in theaters. Even though the budget was nearly 200 million dollars, Troy was able to produce a worldwide gross of over 495 million dollars.

Of the more than 35 Brad Pitt movies, in the last two decades, the gross revenue has nearly topped 5 billion dollars. The overall average gross for Brad Pitt movies is somewhere in the neighborhood of 54 million dollars. Of course, box office figures in that range are always a plus to any actor when seeking a role.

Steven Soderbergh has directed four Brad Pitt movies in the last decade, including the ‘Ocean’s’ trilogy, and ‘Confessions of a Dangerous Mind’.

The latest Brad Pitt movie, ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ (released on Dec 25, 2008) has already grossed over 100 million dollars and received 13 Oscar nominations. Another recent Brad Pitt movie that has prospered was the September 2008 release of ‘Burn after Reading’.

The future of Brad Pitt movies is loaded with several new projects in the works including lead roles in two movies being released this year and 4 movies in which Brad is the producer. It is expected that over the next three years Brad will be involved in as many as 11 new movie projects.

From non-credited and cameo parts in low budget movies to blockbuster hits worldwide, Brad Pitt has proven his inherent ability to not only star, but also produce some of the most popular big screen movies in the last decade.
